It was really great to read the accounts of the installation of Archbishop Timothy Dolan as the new Archbishop of New York. I don't think I have ever seen a happier guy in my life. But more to the point I think that he typifies the type of Bishop that the Church needs. Like an experienced wagon master of the old west he is brave, fearless and truthful and will be the kind of leader that will know instinctively when it is time to circle the wagons. The picture is from the Archdiocesan website. And just to give you a little taste of what the world has in store for it the following quote should give you some insight.
“Maybe the greatest threat to the church is not heresy, not dissent, not secularism, not even moral relativism, but this sanitized, feel-good, boutique, therapeutic spirituality that makes no demands, calls for no sacrifice, asks for no conversion, entails no battle against sin, but only soothes and affirms."
Congratulations Archbishop Dolan!
