Last night my wife and I had the pleasure of attending a fund raising dinner for our daughter's Catholic School. For those of you unfamiliar with parochial schools, in addition to paying tuition, parents must think of new and sometimes creative ways in order to fund our children's education. Since no politician will challenge the status quo and allow education vouchers we have to do quite a bit extra in terms of financial support in order to keep our kids out of a failed and largely morally bankrupt public education system.
At our table were two other couples whose kids along with our daughter make up a kind of intellectual access of evil in the third grade. This is the first time since pre school that all of us have been able to get together in the same place without the kids, enjoy a bit of open bar and just hang out a bit. Without boring you with the details let me just tell you that the other two fathers were just two of the funniest guys I have ever had the pleasure of hanging out with. Wit, whiskey and of course the companionship of three lovely women. Adult interaction. Who knew?
